Wondering What Happened at Summer Solstice?

Over 40 Kundalini yoga teachers and students from Austin joined 1600 folks from around the world to celebrate the Summer Solstice in the high mountains of New Mexico. The largest Kundalini Yoga event in history, this Solstice celebration had folks arriving from all over Europe, Asia, South America and Africa to join in for a week of yoga workshops and three days of White Tantric Yoga.

Each morning before sunrise, ensembles of Kundalini musicians played as everyone gathered in an open-air shelter to practice yoga and meditation. All through the day world-class teachers held workshops on topics ranging from how to develop a personal yoga practice to managing relationships through yoga. Mehtab and Guru Karam from Yoga Yoga presented classes in the How to Play the Gong, Practicing Sat Kriya, and How to Have a Successful Yoga Center.

One evening program featured a group of Austin Kundalini Yoga teachers (Vedya, Bir, Mehtab and Guru Karam) giving a gong concert. Other Yoga Yoga teachers in attendance at Solstice included Sat Nam Kaur, Raghurai, Christina, Sirgun, Sada Anand, Ellie, Marc, and Allyson. Many of our new Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training graduates joined in for their first Solstice experience (Sat Nam to Cyndi, Robert, Devon, and Nicole!) and others were returning for their second or third visit to the mountains.

If you see one of these 40 spaced-out people in the yoga center over the next few weeks, ask them how they liked Summer Solstice!
